Marketing Calendar in Less Than 15 Minutes
Are you freaking out because it is March and you don’t have your marketing calendar finalized yet?
Do not worry. Breathe in and check this out. Many marketers get lost in the weeds of developing this super complex, detailed marketing calendar. Once they are done, they struggle to maintain it. We work on two calendars – macro and micro. Sometimes we work on macro first and then get into the details and other times we create that super detailed version and then make the macro version as an easy, at-a-glance overview version.
Create a simple calendar like the one on the right and write your big events, tradeshows, conferences, vacations, company milestones, marketing campaigns, and other events you need to see at a glance. Blocking this out at this level will show you any holes where your marketing efforts get light. Next add in quarterly or monthly content marketing themes.
