Barriere Construction is a well-established, third-generation heavy highway and civil contractor that operates out of six locations in the Gulf South.

Challenge
The construction company wanted to stay ahead of the game by proactively growing their footprint in the rapidly emerging petrochemical market. The obstacle was proving Barriere to be the right team for this type of project – petrochemical is a best value, private bid market, while Barriere is historically a low bid public contractor.

Solution
To ramp up Barriere’s visibility and credibility within the petrochemical marketplace, The Brand Constructors created a multi-touch campaign that enabled the company to engage with hard-to-reach decision makers. The campaign included multiple consecutive ads in trade publications/directories, direct mail pieces, award-winning submissions to trade associations, petrochemical-related web updates, and a thumbdrive presentation that showcased Barriere’s petrochemical work.
Results
The campaign was successful in winning Barriere new work in the petrochemical field, so much so that Barriere created a new division solely for petrochemical projects, opening a sixth office in an untapped geographic location. The company attributes the campaign as the catapult for their resulting expanded reach and visibility within the petrochemical industry, and it continues to grow their credibility among new prospective audiences today.
